LAW 7.3.237 - February 26, 2020

Enhancements

Improvements for Turbo Import

Improved Source Management in Turbo Import offers an improved, user-focused import staging interface. Quickly sort, filter, and delete imported sources from a single import interface, while leveraging advanced Date Filtering and automatic Date Sorting on import.

We’ve also added support for Scanning, Image Replacement Load Files, and Raw Image imports into Turbo Import cases.

Known Issues

Turbo Import

When applying passwords and reprocessing encryption errors, then encrypted duplicates that have already been populated in LAW are not excluded.

In rare instances, embedded images are not being extracted with the correct file type extension through Turbo Import.

When using the Turbo Import Settings > Number Attachments option, there is a scenario where attached archive files cause gaps in Number Attachments. The recommended workaround is to renumber using LAW's "Document Level Attachment Numbering" option in Tools > Options > Numbering.

E-Printing

For Power Point Notes files, the Date/Time Stamp is printed in the output when 'Do not print date/time stamps' is selected.

TIFF/PDF

When tiffing oversized MSGs with oversized images, the oversized image is not resized to fit to page.

Note for 64-Bit Outlook and tiffing: Users who plan to tiff MSG files using 64-bit Outlook are advised to set the SourceApp setting to Shell Printer. The use of 64-Bit Outlook as a Source Application is not currently supported at this time.

Expervision OCR

When OCRing to create a Searchable PDF, using the Create PDF Thumbnail option causes OCR to timeout. Disabling the Create PDF Thumbnail resolves this.  Abbyy doesn't have this issue.

Software Licensing

When multiple product keys are activated on the same license server with overlapping features, the overlapping features will display the expiration date of the product key that expires first.

For example, a perpetual license contains 1 Tiff, 1 Admin, 1 ED Loader, and 1 OCR and is activated on the license server with an expiration date of NEVER.  A burst license for 2 Tiff licenses, 1 Edit, and 1 OCR licenses that Expires on 6/18/2018 is activated on the same license server.  The license manager will display the 3 Tff and 2 OCR licenses combined with an expiration date of 6/18/2018.

Deactivating the burst license or the perpetual license from the license server to activate on a different server, will remove all overlapping licenses.   For example, deactivating the burst license will remove all Tiff and OCR licenses in addition to the 1 Edit license, leaving the 1 Admin and 1 ED Loader on the license server.  The current workaround is to deactivate the remaining license (perpetual EID) and activate it again.

NSF Processing

Scenarios where multiple Agents attempt to process a single NSF file may cause an exception. To bypass this exception, users can temporarily restrict processing to one agent and reprocess the NSF source, and then remove the agent restriction for regular imports.  This will be addressed in a future release.

InterCase Deduplication

The "Apply Duplicate Relationships" utility for InterCase Deduplication is not correctly clearing out previously populated parent-level fields.

Case Migration

When adding a legacy case to a new caselist, the case database will automatically be migrated to the higher version schema without first prompting user. This will be fixed to prompt user in a future release to give users the option to add a legacy case without upgrading it.
