Installer

It is highly recommended that users apply all Windows Updates before running the LAW Installer.  Installation may take longer if the prerequisite .NET Framework needs to be installed.  See this Microsoft article for more information about installation times for .NET: Installation Updates for Microsoft .NET Framework

The install location chosen via the Options button on the EULA window is overridden by the install location selected via the Browse button on the Custom Setup screen.

InterCase Deduplication

The "Apply Duplicate Relationships" utility for InterCase Deduplication is not correctly clearing out previously populated parent-level fields.

LAW Configuration Utility

When loading a new NIST database, the Configuration Utility NIST page will sometimes not update status appropriately after the NIST load utility finishes.  The next, back and test buttons will be disabled.  To workaround this issue, close the Configuration Utility, reopen the Configuration Utility, then navigate to the NIST page.  The NIST load status should then display appropriately.

Licensing

When multiple product keys are activated on the same license server with overlapping features, the overlapping features will display the expiration date of the product key that expires first. For example, a perpetual license contains 1 Tiff, 1 Admin, 1 ED Loader, and 1 OCR and is activated on the license server with an expiration date of NEVER.  A burst license for 2 Tiff licenses, 1 Edit, and 1 OCR licenses that Expires on 6/18/2018 is activated on the same license server.  The license manager will display the 3 Tff and 2 OCR licenses combined with an expiration date of 6/18/2018.

Deactivating the burst license or the perpetual license from the license server to activate on a different server, will remove all overlapping licenses.   For example, deactivating the burst license will remove all Tiff and OCR licenses in addition to the 1 Edit license, leaving the 1 Admin and 1 ED Loader on the license server.  The current workaround is to deactivate the remaining license (perpetual EID) and activate it again.

Office 64-Bit

LAW 7.5 has been certified for Office 64-bit deployments with Turbo Import workflows.  However, users should be aware of the following caveats:

PST creation/reconstitution from LAW requires 32-bit Outlook.

ED Loader requires 32-bit Outlook.

Concordance Desktop and Classic require 32-bit Outlook.  On machines where 64-bit Office is installed, users attempting to complete a Concordance Direct export, or Concordance DCB export from LAW will receive an error.  As a workaround, perform LAW to Concordance exports on machines with 32-bit Outlook.

Processing

Re-processing exceptions from unsupported containers causes critical analysis failures.

TIFF/PDF

When tiffing oversized MSGs with oversized images, the oversized image is not resized to fit to page.

Turbo Imager

TIF files processed with Turbo Imager cannot be larger than 4GB.

Turbo Import

When applying passwords and reprocessing encryption errors, encrypted duplicates that have already been populated in LAW are not excluded.

In rare instances, embedded images are not being extracted with the correct file type extension through Turbo Import.
