Known Issues

Installation

LAW PreDiscovery and Early Data Analyzer installer may generate an error when attempting to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Update 3 Redistributable Package" if “Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable" is already installed on the machine. This error can be safely ignored if the newer redistributable is installed.

Document Analysis

Document Analysis for pdfs is not detecting nor splitting on bookmarks in LAW Version 6.18.144 or 6.18.148.

ED Loader

Due to an internal third party application, in limited situations MHT files are imported through Electronic Discovery as Excel files.  We are currently working with the vendor to resolve this.

The Passwords settings in ED Loader will generate an error message if entering case sensitive password variations for example: ABC123, abc123, Abc123.  The current work around is to go directly to the text file and add the password variations and save the file.

TIFF/PDF

When tiffing oversized MSGs with oversized images, the oversized image is not able to resize to fit to page.

Expervision OCR

When OCRing to create a Searchable PDF, using the Create PDF Thumbnail option causes OCR to timeout. Disabling the Create PDF Thumbnail resolves this.  Abbyy doesn't have this issue.

Software Licensing

When multiple product keys are activated on the same license server with overlapping features, the overlapping features will display the expiration date of the product key that expires first.

•For example, a perpetual license contains 1 Tiff, 1 Admin, 1 ED Loader, and 1 OCR and is activated on the license server with an expiration date of NEVER.  A burst license for 2 Tiff licenses, 1 Edit, and 1 OCR licenses that Expires on 6/18/2018 is activated on the same license server.  The license manager will display the 3 Tff and 2 OCR licenses combined with an expiration date of 6/18/2018.

•Deactivating the burst license or the perpetual license from the license server to activate on a different server, will remove all overlapping licenses.   For example, deactivating the burst license will remove all Tiff and OCR licenses in addition to the 1 Edit license, leaving the 1 Admin and 1 ED Loader on the license server.  The current workaround is to deactivate the remaining license (perpetual EID) and activate it again.
