Working with a Workgroup Account

LAW Turbo was intended to run on a MS Domain account and that is what we recommend. But with the correct rights, LAW Turbo will run in a workstation group. It is suggested that you talk to LAW Support when setting this up.

ALL-IN-ONE Workstation

LAW Service = To turn on the LAW Turbo Service and add the workstation to the Turbo pool use the Local System Account setting

SQL = You must set up the "law_user" inside of SQL and give the workgroup ability to work through it.

Windows = any user account. This account also must have permissions to LAW50 folder, source data, and LAW case folder.

SQL, License, Source Data or Case folders are NOT local

LAW Service = Run as User Account. This account must be EXACTLY the same on all other devices that are not local.

Example:  if you run LAW service with “Jane.Doe” – this same account will need to be created on the SQL server and/or License Server and/or Network Share/NAS device with the same permissions to the source data & case folder.

SQL = law_user

Windows = in test scenario w/ client; we logged in with the newly created local account but in theory, you should be able to log in with any Windows account as long as it also has permissions to the LAW50 folder, source data and LAW case folders. The service is using the user account that’s already configured.
