Before you can use a scanner with CloudNine™ LAW, you must install the scanner on your computer according to instructions provided by the scanner manufacturer. LAW scanning applications can work with ISIS or TWAIN based drivers. Make certain that Windows can detect the scanner and that all drivers and necessary software have been installed. Consult product documentation for the scanner or visit the manufacturer's website for instructions and to locate up-to-date drivers. . It is also best to test the scanning with the driver software to insure that it is fully working with Windows.
Preparation to run a scanning job also should include the process of identifying the scanning requirements of the job.
Assuming a scanner is installed and your requirements are clearly drawn, the next step is to open LAW to select your particular scanner model. Those are the Embedded Scanner and the TSI. After you select your scanner model, you will then want to connect LAW to your scanner, from there configure scanning options according to the requirements of the scanning job. If you are using barcode break sheets, you also can set options for scanning them as well. Then you are ready to scan.
