Using the Export Utility

The Export Utility is used for Case File output, allowing you to decide which documents, files, and data should be packaged together and exported for use with Concordance or other litigation support applications. Due to the wide variety of load file formats supported by this utility, there are an extensive amount of options and settings available for fine-tuned configurations, all divided between four main tabs. Once specific configurations are established, an Export Profile should be saved from those options/settings to make future Case File exports significantly easier.

There are three primary ways to launch the Export Utility:

1)From the Main User Interface, click on ExportUtilityMainToolbar within the Toolbar OR use the Menu to select Tools > Export Utility....

i.All Documents from the active Case File will be selected for export when using this method.

2)From either Grid View, click on the Export Utility button within the Toolbar OR from the Standalone Grid View use the Menu to select Tools > Export Utility.

i.The Search Results will be selected for export when using this method.

3)Use the Database Query Builder to send search results there (Send Results To > Export Utility).

i.The Search Results will be selected for export when using this method.

Export Profiles

Export Profiles are PFL files that store a full list of configuration settings established within the Export Utility. There is no default Export Profile, so each new Case File will have a blank profile loaded until a new one is created/saved. These profiles can be saved in any location, allowing anyone with access to the file itself to use them. You can manage your Export Profiles through the use of the File Menu within the Export Utility itself, which is available from any tab.
