Explore 7.0.206 - January 29, 2019

Enhancements

Analysis

Multiple agents will be used to process both embedded and top-level PST, OST, DBX, and MBX files that contain 1000+ emails per container (by default).   Both existing and newly created cases can make use of this feature which provides more than a 30% performance improvement over earlier versions of CloudNine™ Explore (using one agent per container).

Email Notifications

Users can configure CloudNine™ Explore to automatically generate and send email notifications to specific email recipients when Inventory, Analysis, OCR, Indexing, Near Duplicate Detection, Email Threading, and/or Export jobs are completed. Notifications can be set up globally for all cases. Notifications are created and managed from the Notifications tab in the Environment Settings window.

Exports:  Native, Native Subset, and LAW Direct

Emails from MBX or DBX mailstores can be exported in EML, HTML, or MHTML formats for both LAW Direct, Native, and Native Subset Exports.  For example, if the Message Format selected is Native then the pst emails are in MSG format.  If the Message Format selected is HTML, then the emails are in HTML format.

Removed LAW PreDiscovery Export from EDA export options; affects new cases created in 7.0.206.

Metadata

Updated CloudNine™ Explore's formatting for Powerpoint, Publisher, RTF and other Office file types standard metadata to more closely match LAW's standard metadata.

Added option to extract EXIF metadata properties from TIFF and JPEG image files that are exported to LAW via LAW Direct export.   The EXIF metadata is not searchable within CloudNine™ Explore.   The new EXIF metadata properties are not available via Native exports.

Added option to extract custom metadata properties for MS Office documents that are exported to LAW via LAW Direct export.  The custom metadata is not searchable within CloudNine™ Explore.   The new custom metadata properties are not available via Native exports.

Supported Software

SQL 2017 is certified for use with CloudNine™ Explore.

Windows Server 2016 is certified for use with CloudNine™ Explore.

Known issues

Hashing

There may be hashing differences in 7.0 from previous versions when duplicate email names are encountered in the "To" field, the duplicate email name will only be listed once in the "To" Field, Unicode characters in the body/subject.  7.0 doesn't normalize white space in the body of emails which can also create hashing differences.

Reports

In some situations where errors occurred during the export, the Export Report's Summary of Exported Items (Included Families) is smaller than the sum of the Custodian's Exported Items (Included Families).

Software Licensing:

When multiple product keys are activated on the same license server with overlapping features, the overlapping features will display the expiration date of the product key that expires first.

For example, a perpetual license contains 1 Tiff, 1 Admin, 1 ED Loader, and 1 OCR and is activated on the license server with an expiration date of NEVER.  A burst license for 2 Tiff licenses, 1 Edit, and 1 OCR licenses that Expires on 6/18/2018 is activated on the same license server.  The license manager will display the 3 Tff and 2 OCR licenses combined with an expiration date of 6/18/2018.

Deactivating the burst license or the perpetual license from the license server to activate on a different server, will remove all overlapping licenses.   For example, deactivating the burst license will remove all Tiff and OCR licenses in addition to the 1 Edit license, leaving the 1 Admin and 1 ED Loader on the license server.  The current workaround is to deactivate the remaining license (perpetual EID) and activate it again.

Analysis

Unencrypted RAR files in format 5.0+ are showing as encrypted during analysis and not extracting content.

In rare instances, embedded images are not being extracted with the correct file type extension.
